Wow! What a great year it has been for me professionally! I’ve been involved with the New Librarians Symposium since May this year, helping out with its marketing side. The Symposium will be held in Brisbane (February 2013) and I’m really looking forward to meeting up with the rest of the organising committee members and of course all of you info professionals – new and established!
I’ve also continued on with my role as the coordinator for the New Grads Group here in Tasmania, organising events such as the Resume Review Service and the Selection Criteria Workshop. I’m currently brewing up an awesome professional development (PD) program for 2013. My aim is to assist LIS (Library & Information Science) students, new grads and other interested library folks here in Tassie with their PD needs.
I will also continue with my reading project throughout 2013. I’ve managed to read and review 4 reading materials last school term. That’s less than what I aimed for but I’m hoping that I get to read six items for next term.
So from me and Smarty, we wish you all a wonderful festive season and that 2013 brings you much happiness, prosperity and good health. Happy holidays and we look forward to seeing you all in 2013!
