Book Review – Bill Bailey’s Guide to Happiness

This book was recommended to me by a colleague before I went on my extended leave last year. But I only started reading this (and finished it of course) at the beginning of this year. Again, I postponed my reserve on this item at my local library last year. Have I mentioned already how I love reserving items at public libraries because it is a great FREE service?!

I recognised the author as I have seen him in the comedy show Black Books.

This book is a collection of essays that Bill Bailey has written based on what has made him happy – activities like golf, playing the gamelan and walking in nature. He’s also co-illustrated this book with Joe Magee. I enjoyed reading this book because it’s funny and heart-warming. I like the chapter on clearing stuff and bird-song trees. I’m not sure about his suggestion of jumping off a plane and swimming with the whales though. But I am glad he had a great time doing them!

A lovely feel-good book, which I highly recommend!
