For some reason I don’t have a photo of me in this library. Must have been one of my off days or I was wearing crappy clothes. Not sure.
Date of visit: 8 October 2021
Features: For a population of about 5000 people, the Millicent Public Library was quite a reasonable size library serving its community. The library building was set in a lovely grounds/parkland near the Millicent CBD and also housed an art gallery. Resources on the shelves looked brand new. At the time of the visit there were:
- 7 PCs available for public use (no need to sign in)
- 2 staff on duty
- plenty of space to move, sit and roam around
- new books display
- roomy children’s section
There was a bookcase as you walked in the library named Williams Library. It was a cabinet of what looked like reference books but at a closer look they were actually old Encyclopedia Britannicas! Quite interesting.

Overall Impression: I liked this contemporary library. It was spacious, bright and catered for the whole family. It’s worth a visit if you’re in Millicent. And make sure you allow time to see the art gallery next door as well.
